US online retail giant Amazon announced that it would hire 6,000 full-time employees in the United States to meet strong demand, particularly in distribution and delivery services.
A company statement said hiring would take place at the group’s distribution centers in about 12 US states.
The Seattle-based company said the main roles involved picking, shipping, and delivering goods.
Amazon, which had 154,000 employees at the end of the previous December, said these were newly created jobs.
