Sahel Selim district and city in Assiut conducted intensive inspections of markets, bakeries, cooking-gas depots, and fuel stations in coordination with local supply and health departments.

District head Sameh Abdel Alim said the campaign produced 65 supply violation reports over ten days.

Daily inspections of subsidized bakeries and markets resulted in twelve reports for bread failing specifications or being underweight, and 47 for not displaying food prices or offering expired goods and products of unknown origin.

Five reports were filed against depot owners selling gas cylinders above the official price.

He added that campaigns to remove encroachments on farmland and state land continued under Governor Yasser El-Desouky’s instructions. Seventeen recent encroachments covering eleven qirats of agricultural land were removed immediately.
