Cairo Criminal Court adjourned the trial of Mohamed Morsi and ten Muslim Brotherhood defendants accused of espionage and leaking national-security and armed-forces documents from sovereign state agencies through the presidency to Qatar. The next hearing would be held on the evening of December 27 because the courtroom was otherwise occupied.
The court requested the attendance of Major General Abdel Momen Fouda, former deputy head of the presidential office, and Major General Mohamed Zaki, commander of the Republican Guard, together with a statement identifying documents moved from defendant Abdel Ati’s office to Abdeen Palace. It permitted medication to be supplied to defendant Mohamed Al-Kilani after security and medical checks.
The hearing was chaired by Judge Mohamed Shirin, with Judges Abu Al-Nasr Othman and Hassan Al-Sayes.
