Russia to Supply Egypt with 46 Ka-52K Helicopters

The General Director of “Russian Helicopters,” Alexander Mikheev, announced that Russia will supply Egypt with 46 Ka-52K “Alligator” naval helicopters.

Mikheev stated on Wednesday, December 30: “In the past year, we signed new agreements with users of Russian and foreign helicopter technologies, and ‘Rosoboronexport’ signed a major agreement with Egypt to supply Ka-52K ‘Alligator’ helicopters.”

This helicopter is an upgraded model of the Ka-50 (Black Shark) attack helicopter, and its mission is to detect various moving and stationary targets on the ground and destroy enemy armored vehicles and aircraft.

“Russian Helicopters” is one of the leading companies in the helicopter industry, and the only designer and manufacturer of helicopters in Russia. It was founded in 2007 and owns five factories and other facilities for the production, maintenance, and servicing of helicopters.

It is worth noting that the two Mistral helicopter carriers that Egypt purchased from France were specifically designed for the Russian-made Ka-29/27 and Ka-52K helicopters.
