The Media Industry Chamber has decided to ban MP Tawfiq Okasha from appearing on its affiliated television channels. It also prohibited broadcasting or publishing news involving him and coverage of events in which he participates, for a period of 3 months.
This decision comes as a result of his violation of the professional code of conduct for regulating media performance, issued by the Egyptian Media Coordination Authority, which includes the “Egyptian Radio and Television Union, the General Authority for Information, the Journalists Syndicate, the Media Syndicate – under establishment, and the Media Industry Chamber.”
The Chamber also decided, in a meeting held today, to request that the free zone include the code of conduct among its approved documents for regulating work and its rules.
