Nissan introduced the all-new 2016 Maxima with a complete redesign inspired by the Nissan Sport Sedan concept previously unveiled at the Detroit auto show.
The car features sharp lines, a V-shaped grille, and streamlined front and rear lights.
It is offered in three versions: S, SV, and the top-range SR.
The substantially changed grille gives a more aggressive appearance, with broad chrome accents. Large, sharply styled headlights use LED technology, while the lower bumper has air intakes and wide fog lights. At the rear are a modest spoiler and two exhaust outlets. Standard wheels measure 18 inches, rising to 19 inches on the higher trim.
Inside are newly designed seats and many color options. The broad center console contains an 8-inch touchscreen LCD for directions and navigation. A rear camera assists parking, and remote start is included, with further features on higher versions.
The sole engine option is a 3.5-liter V6, described in the article as using direct injection, producing 300 horsepower. An advanced automatic CVT permits acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds.
