
The Central Bank of Oman’s assets rose to 7.8 billion Omani rials at the end of June, compared with around 7.3 billion in June 2014, an increase of 7.4 percent.
The rise was supported by foreign assets, which reached 7.3 billion rials, approximately 277 million above their level a year earlier.
Within foreign assets, balances at overseas banks totaled 949.4 million rials, reserves at the International Monetary Fund reached 139.6 million, and foreign securities were worth around 6.3 billion.
The balance sheet showed claims on the government of 265.1 million rials at the end of June, claims on local banks of 167 million, Oman’s IMF quota of 83.3 million, fixed assets of 40.6 million, and other assets of 65.3 million.
The central bank’s capital stood at 760 million rials. Currency issued totaled 1.675 billion rials at the end of June, compared with 1.484 billion in June of the previous year.
