Father Mansour Secondary School, run by the Antonine Order in Qlayaa, Marjayoun, organized a Christmas recital performed by the school choir. A large gathering of local residents attended, led by parish priest Monsignor Mansour al-Hakim, Father Maroun Abu Rahal, school director Father Youssef Bassil, and pupils’ families.
After the national anthem, school anthem and Gospel readings, Bassil offered holiday greetings and called on those present to “live the meaning of the Incarnation and await the heavenly harvest,” while Abu Rahal said that “love is what brings us together.”
Led by Georges Nehra, the choir performed Christmas hymns and songs, some produced by the school.
Qadmous Club in Abra organizes Christmas carnival for third consecutive year
For the third year running, Qadmous Club in Abra, east of Sidon, organized a Christmas festival and carnival for the town’s children. Their procession set off in two buses from the town square and toured Majdelyoun, Salhiyeh, Kfar Jarra, Lebaa, Ain al-Mir, Baysour, Jinsnaya, al-Qrayeh, Ain al-Delb, Haret Saida and Sidon before returning to Abra.
Carnival supervisor Ibtissam Khoury expressed the hope that security, peace and joy would spread throughout Lebanon.
Evangelical school pupils in Sidon distribute sweets
To mark the Prophet’s birthday and the birth of Jesus Christ, pupils from the Evangelical School of Arts in Sidon distributed sweets to motorists and pedestrians on the city’s main streets. School president Dr Jean Daoud and several teachers joined them.
Popular Women’s Committee greets children at Maarouf Saad Foundation schools in Sidon
Also in Sidon, a delegation from the Popular Nasserist Organization’s Popular Women’s Committee visited the Maarouf Saad Cultural, Social and Charitable Foundation’s Natasha Saad National School and Sidon National School, as well as the Martyr Maarouf Saad Kindergarten. They shared the children’s holiday joy and gave them sweets and gifts.
René Moawad Foundation organizes “Christmas Village 2015” in Zgharta
In Zgharta, the René Moawad Foundation opened its 2015 Christmas Village under the slogan “Live Love Zgharta,” displayed as LIVE LOVE ZGHART. The village was set up in the square of Saint John the Baptist Cathedral, with wooden Christmas houses selling holiday products and a special Santa Claus house where children took souvenir photographs with him. The village brought a festive atmosphere of joy, warmth and life to Zgharta’s streets, commercial market and surrounding district villages.
