Meteorologists: floods and heavy rain are expected in the following governorates over the coming hours, with temperatures falling by a full ten degrees.
The Meteorological Authority said the floods and heavy rain that hit Alexandria today had been forecast and that it warned yesterday of heavy rainfall. Alexandria’s governor said the city was experiencing an environmental disaster because of the rain. Photographs showed some of the damage: four people died and shops were affected. The president directed government agencies to work quickly to restore the city. Waheed Saudi said temperatures would continue falling until next Tuesday before conditions returned to normal. Heavy rain would continue across the country, at times reaching flood levels in Alexandria, Sinai, the Red Sea and Upper Egypt governorates.
