Former Qatari emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani broke his leg and was taken to Switzerland for treatment, according to a tweet by his son Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad.
Joaan said the injury required surgery and that his father was now in good health.
He wrote: “For everyone who asked, Father is well, praise be to God. He broke his leg, underwent surgery, and is now receiving physiotherapy. Thank you for asking.”
