Bethlehem—Ma’an report: Palestinian forensic officials questioned Israeli procedures for bodies being withheld, particularly freezing them and requiring burial immediately after handover. The report said this raised suspicions about possible organ theft and attempts to conceal evidence of a crime.
Forensic medicine director Dr. Saber Al-Aloul told Ma’an that freezing bodies at temperatures reaching minus 35°C prevented autopsies from beginning for 24–48 hours, while Israel simultaneously required families to bury the bodies immediately upon receiving them.
