Russia Extends Food Import Ban to Ukraine

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said Russia would extend its ban on Western food products to Ukraine from January 1, when Kyiv’s free-trade agreement with the European Union took effect.

“I have just signed the decree,” he told a meeting with his deputies, according to Russian news agencies.

The announcement came as new talks were scheduled in Brussels on Monday to avoid such a development.
