The Saudi National Campaign to Support Syrian Brothers and Sisters has launched a project to provide psychological support to Syrians in Lebanon, with a total cost of $282,748 to date. A statement released to “Al Arabiya.net” by the campaign stated that this project has achieved great success after completing its various programs, providing support to 5,580 Syrian students and 40 parents through various forms of psychological support in Lebanon over the past six months, at a financial cost of $282,748. The comprehensive phases of the project have been well-received and appreciated by the beneficiaries in the Akkar, Tripoli, Bekaa, Beirut, Saida, and Mount Lebanon regions, as the program has contributed to supporting and strengthening the psychological well-being of Syrian brothers and sisters affected by the displacement crisis, who suffer from symptoms of fear, confusion, and stress. According to the statement, during this important project, the National Campaign worked to strengthen ties with several organizations and associations, most notably the “Kidproof” Foundation, which provides education on child safety through courses and seminars, the “Sukun” Foundation, which focuses on educating and guiding individuals on the risks of deviant behaviors such as addiction and drug abuse, and the “Catharsis” Foundation, which uses drama as an effective treatment for those suffering from psychological disorders. Nour Al-Wajdi, a young beneficiary of the project, believes that the psychological support project implemented by the campaign is of great importance to the daily lives of refugees, noting that she and many of the participating students have benefited from the program, which has boosted the refugees’ self-confidence and helped them overcome their psychological state. She considers it a distinguished initiative by the Saudi National Campaign to Support Syrian Brothers and Sisters. Dr. Bader Abdulrahman Al-Sumhan, the Regional Director of the Saudi National Campaign, confirmed that the “My Brother, We Share Your Burden” project was launched after the campaign’s comprehensive surveys revealed the difficult psychological state that Syrian brothers and sisters were experiencing during their journey as refugees. He noted that, praise be to God, the campaign has successfully completed the project and achieved its intended goals, making it one of the humanitarian milestones that demonstrate the noble and sincere message of the campaign’s relief work, and serving as a solid foundation for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, both government and people, to continue its humanitarian and charitable work as an integral part of its principles and values derived from the tolerant Islamic Sharia.
