Syrian anti-aircraft guns on the Syrian bank of the Nahr al-Kabir river fired toward a Lebanese army helicopter that was patrolling the Akkar plain. Reports said the helicopter was hit, but its pilots managed to return to Qlayaat Air Base.
Investigations and contacts were continuing on several levels to establish the causes of this first incident of its kind.
