Turkish youth launch the “Do Not Be Angry with Syrian Children” campaign.

Peace be upon you, and welcome. Winter is at our door and the cold has begun. Anyone with a warm home, sheltered from rain, should regard it as a great blessing from God. Yet there are people, Muslims, and children exposed to the cold because of oppression.

A group from Turkey’s Justice and Development Party youth wing launched the solidarity campaign to protect Syrian children, particularly after a Syrian child was beaten by a restaurant owner in Izmir. The incident caused public outrage, especially among young people.

The video shows young people handing out tissues and cardboard signs bearing the photograph of the child beaten in Izmir and the words: “Our Syrian brothers and sisters are protected in this place.”

The video ends with a message to Turkish society: “Do not be angry with Syrian children, because selling tissues is not their choice.”
